The Super Fun 21 Blackjack Rules
The basic rules of Super Fun 21 are the same as traditional blackjack, but it's the curves and turns that make the game interesting. However, let's start with the basics. The game is played with a regular, standard deck of card. After placing a bet, the player is dealt 2 cards face up; the dealer is dealt a hole card and an up card (one card face down and one card face up).
The dealer must hit on a soft 17. The player can split up to 4 times and he can double down after splitting. Aces can be split more than once and even non-identical 10-value cards can be split. The surrender rule is in effect (a player can stop playing and surrender half his bet if he feels he won't be winning the hand).

The first twist in Super Fun 21 is that a player's hand of six cards or more totaling 20 or less beats even a dealer blackjack. It's hard to do but when it's done it's a heck of a lot of fun.
Any hand comprised of 5 cards or more that total 21 pays 2:1. And there's another special bonus - a blackjack with the suit of diamonds (known as the Diamond Blackjack) also pays 2:1.

To compensate for these nice, generous rules and bonuses, a natural in a game of Super Fun 21 pays out "only" even money (and not the 3:2 that it usually does). That's just the way it is with blackjack games: for every special blackjack rule that favors the player, there is an off-setting rule that disadvantages him.
