What is Multihand Blackjack?
Multihand blackjack is an exciting way to play blackjack. With multihand blackjack, you can play up to five hands of blackjack at one time. It is best to play multihand blackjack in an online casino, as that gives you the luxury of having time to play each of your blackjack hands thoughtfully, without feeling rushed.
Rules of How to Play Multihand Blackjack
There are many ways to play multihand blackjack online. You can play Multihand Classic Blackjack or Multihand Atlantic City Blackjack or Multihand European Blackjack. You can also play Multihand Double Exposure Blackjack or Multihand Pontoon Blackjack. All Jackpots Casino offers 17 different ways to play online multihand blackjack.
There are differences between all the multihand blackjack variations, but there is a lot that they have in common. First and foremost, you get to choose how many hands of blackjack you want to play, from one to five. You do this by placing from one to five bets in the betting circles of the virtual blackjack table. You may make all of your multihand blackjack bets the same if you want to, or you can make different-sized bets on each of the betting circles. It is up to you.
Playing Your Blackjack Hands
Once you have made your bets, the dealer will deal two cards to each of the hands you have bet on. You then play each of your hands separately. Your goal, on each of your blackjack hands, is to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21 but without going over. On each of your separate hands, you may:
Stand. This means to take no more cards.
Hit. This means to ask the dealer for another card.
Double down. You double the size of your bet on that particular hand and take one more card and then stand.
Split. If the two cards in one of your hands are the same denomination, you may split them into two hands. Each of the two resulting hands has a bet amount equal to your original bet. Each of the two hands receives another card, and you then play each hand independently as you would with any blackjack hand.
Surrender. If your hand looks bad and you think you will lose, you may surrender half of your bet instead of playing and losing your entire bet.
How to Win at Multihand Blackjack
Remember, each of your Multihand Blackjack hands is played independently. That means that, in the same game of blackjack, you might win some of your hands and lose others.
If the first two cards in one of your hands are an Ace and a 10-value card (a 10 or a face card), congratulations! You have a blackjack - also known as a natural - and you win a payout of 3:2 on your bet. All other wins in blackjack pay out at normal odds of 1:1.
If the total value of the cards in your hand goes over 21, you bust and you automatically lose that hand, regardless of what the dealer does.

If the dealer busts, all of your non-busted hands win, regardless of how high or low they are.
If the dealer does not bust, the total value of the dealer's hand is compared to the value of each of your non-busted hands. In each case, the hand with the higher value wins.
If one of your hands ties with the dealer's hand, it is a Push. You neither win nor lose any money.
Multihand Blackjack in the Online Casino
It is difficult to play multihand blackjack in a land-based casino. It takes time to think about your blackjack strategy and decide how you want to play each of your blackjack hands. In a land-based casino, the dealer or another blackjack player will be pressuring you to move faster, and that can throw off your concentration.
Conditions are much better if you play multihand blackjack in an online casino. There are no other players to annoy you, and the Dealer is actually a Random Number Generator who has all the patience in the world. That gives you the freedom to think about your blackjack strategy, to consult a blackjack basic strategy table, and to play each hand of multihand blackjack to the best of your ability.
