What is Baccarat?

Baccarat is a fun and exciting chance game that can be played over the Internet. Most of the Baccarat rules are the same in the video version as in the game played all over the world in casinos from Las Vegas to Monte Carlo.

The online casino games played on the Internet are becoming more and more popular as people discover they can have fun and even have the chance to win real money by playing online. Baccarat is a simple game to learn to play. In fact, winning depends more on luck than experience playing, so even if you have never played before, your odds of winning are the same as someone who has played for years.

In Baccarat, you see two hands made up of cards from a standard fifty-two card deck. All you have to do is predict which hand will come closer to nine when the cards are added together. If you think the hands will add up to the same amount, you can even bet on a tie.

The Rules of Baccarat

In Baccarat, you are betting on which hand will win. There is the "player's" hand and the hand of the "Banker." At the beginning of the game, you first decide how much you wish to wager but clicking on the "chip selector' button. Once you have an amount that you want to wager selected, you decide on whether to bet with the "player's hand," the "Banker's hand," of whether you are betting on a tie You make your selection and click on "play." Each hand is dealt two or three cards.

All "face cards" (King, Queen, and Jack) have a value of zero. Tens also have no value. Aces are considered to be ones. All other cards have the value of their number. A five is 5, an eight is 8, and so forth. The key rule is that when you add up the total of the hand, only the "ones" digit counts. So if a hand adds up to eighteen, it is really considered an eight.

How To Win At Baccarat

If you bet that the "player's" hand would be closer to nine, and it is, you will win twice the amount of your bet. If you bet on the "Banker's" hand, you will also win twice your bet, less a five percent "house" commission. If you took a chance that both the Player and the Banker will have the same hand, and it is, you will win eight times your wager. A $12 bet could lead to almost $100 if you bet correctly on a tie. If you did not bet on a tie and the hands are even, your bet is returned to you.

Remember, only the last digit in the card total counts. Let's say a hand has an 8, a 9, and a 6. Together that adds up to 23. But in Baccarat terms only the last digit counts so that hand would have a value of 3.

To maximize your winnings, a good strategy is to carefully select the amount you want to wager. Then let the computer do the rest. Any winning bets will be automatically added you your credit total.
